2018 promises to be another great year at Bethania Street Community Garden with a wide range of workshops already open for bookings and more events to come. Here is a sample of what is on over the next couple of months...

Harvest Share

Sunday 25 February, 2:30pm - 4:00pm

Celebrate and share the bounty from your garden and kitchen. Bring along herbs, fruit, vegetables, seedlings, jams, home baked goods, eggs (dated please) and enjoy swapping with other gardeners over a cuppa - or just come along. This is a community event so please bring your friends, relatives and neighbours.

GOLD COIN DONATION - NO BOOKING REQUIRED

Weeds: from foe to friend

Sunday 4 March, 9:30am - 11:30am

Learn about the role of weeds in the garden; how to eradicate them without using poisons; how to put them to use in making compost and fertilisers; and also using common garden weeds as food and medicine in our everyday life. Participants are welcome to bring photos of weeds in their garden to have them identified.

^GOLD Lino printing with Megan Forward

Thursday 8 March, 9:30am - 12:30pm

Local artist Megan Forward will use the community garden environment as a stimulus for an enjoyable and easy lino printing workshop. Take home 2-3 prints. No experience necessary.

Introduction to organic gardening

Sunday 18 March, 9:30am - 11:30am

It's easy to start a vegetable garden. Topics will include location, soil, building your garden bed, season in SE Qld and plant choice. We will also build a small "no dig" garden during the session.
