Gardening Time - Wednesday
September to April - 7:00am - 9:00am
May to August - 8:00am - 10:00am
Gardening Time is when our volunteer members get together to communally plant and maintain our fabulous range of fruit, flowers, vegetables and herbs, followed by a cuppa. We have a "jobs list" each week with a variety of tasks that suit people with a range of gardening experience – even beginners. Our OH&S policy requires that all attending the garden be able to walk safely unaided and have good balance. No need to phone ahead, just come along. We are a very friendly bunch and will welcome you wholeheartedly. You can come along for a couple of weeks before joining. Members enjoy access to free organic herbs and leafy greens and we distribute the larger vegetables and fruit to our Gardening Time volunteers.
Weekly Watering
We have a roster of volunteers who keep the garden thriving by watering on a regular basis. This usually takes from 1.5 - 2 hours. Full instructions are given. Email us here if you are interested.
Mowing and Whipper Snippering
Have some time to spare on a less regular basis? We have a roster of volunteers who keep the garden grass neat and tidy. This usually takes 2 - 3 hours depending on the season. All equipment and fuel is provided. Our mowers generally mow twice a year, but any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Email us here if you are interested.
