Gardening Time - Wednesday, 7:00 – 9:30am
Gardening Time is when our volunteer members get together to communally plant and maintain our fabulous range of fruit, flowers, vegetables and herbs, followed by a cuppa.
There is always something to do no matter your previous experience, age or skills. We have a "jobs list" each week with a variety of tasks to choose from. You can do as much or as little as you want.
No need to phone ahead, just come along. We are a very friendly bunch and will welcome you wholeheartedly. You can come along for a couple of weeks before joining.
While members enjoy access to free organic herbs and leafy greens, we generally distribute the larger vegetables and fruit to our Gardening Time volunteers.
We have a roster of volunteers who keep the garden thriving by watering on a regular basis. This usually takes from 1.5 - 2 hours. Full instructions are given. Email us here if you are interested.
Mowing and Whipper Snippering
Have some time to spare on a less regular basis? We have a roster of volunteers who keep the garden grass neat and tidy. This usually takes 2 - 3 hours depending on the season. All equipment and fuel is provided. Our mowers generally mow 2 – 3 times per year, but any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Email us here if you are interested.
Under 5s Gardening Time - First and third Friday of every month, 9:00 – 10:30am
This is a free group for family members with young children. The children and their care givers learn about gardening and explore the world through nature. Bring along a healthy snack, drink, hats and safe shoes.
