Growing Healthy Citrus Trees
Sunday 27th July 2025, 10:00am – 12:00pm

This workshop is an in-depth look at growing citrus trees, including lemons, oranges, mandarins, limes (and others). You will learn how to select, plant and care for these popular fruiting trees. The community garden’s variety of citrus trees allows the presenter to demonstrate fertilising, pruning and the identification, management and prevention of pests and diseases. Citrus grow well in our climate and once established, can provide delicious fruit for decades.

Propagation for Spring Harvest
Saturday 2nd August 2025, 9:30am - 12:30pm

Learn various methods of propagation, including starting from seed and using existing plants. This workshop will focus mainly on edibles and what to plant now for spring crops, as well as general principles. You will take away some plants to grow at home.

Seasonal Get-Together 
Wednesday 13th August 2024 (Ekka Holiday), 10:00am – 11:30am

Everyone is welcome to join us for our Seasonal Get-Together. Bring your friends and neighbours to wander through our productive garden, talk to our friendly gardeners, meet new people, have a cuppa and celebrate our garden and wonderful community. 

If you have any garden produce to share you are most welcome to bring it along, but this isn’t necessary.  Just come for a cuppa and a chat.

Organic Gardening - Backyard Abundance
Sunday 31st August 2025, 10:00am – 2:30pm

Learn how to grow abundant organic fruit and vegetables in small suburban backyards. You will gain knowledge on the establishment and ongoing maintenance of a thriving backyard system. Acclaimed presenter, Michael Wardle, will use the community garden environment for hands on activities, including design, plants and seasons, soil relationships, nutrient cycling for the backyard, preparing garden beds and crop rotation.

Composting and Worm Farms
Sunday 13th October 2024, 9:30am - 11:30am

Join us for this hands-on workshop, where you will learn the basics of composting and worm farming, various types of composting and what is compostable. There will be time for troubleshooting and answering your questions.
