Propagation - New Plants from Old

Thursday 26th March, 9:30am-11:30am

Learn various methods of propagation, including starting from seed and using existing plants. This workshop will focus mainly on edibles and you will take away some plants to grow at home.

Art in the Garden for Kids (6-12yrs): Frogs and Ponds

Thursday 16th April, 10:00am-12:00pm

Join award-winning children's author Megan Forward in this workshop that discusses the place of frog ponds in urban environments. The workshop includes a discussion about the changing nature of our cities, dwindling urban frog populations, properties of materials and what makes a good frog pond, the needs of living things, sustainable design, eliminating mozzies and toads from the pond and building a 3D pond.

Introduction to Permaculture

Sunday 3rd May, 10:00am-12:00pm

Permaculture is the conscious design and maintenance of productive ecosystems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience. Learn about its foundations and ethics and how these can be applied in an urban setting. Using the Community Garden as a demonstration, we will consider how permaculture can be incorporated into our own communities, homes, and lives.

Learn about ways to redesign, downshift and retrofit homes, gardens, communities and ourselves to be more sustainable and resilient. This promises to be an interesting and informative workshop, with lots of discussion and hands on design work.

Weeds: from Foe to Friend

Sunday 14th June, 9:30am-11:30am

Learn how weeds can be used as food and medicine, be an ingredient in compost and fertilisers and also help diagnose soil problems. You will also learn how to get rid of the weeds you don’t want without poisons.

Lino Printing for Adults
